About Us

The Charter Coalition (TCC) brings together mission driven, community development practitioners who are currently providing financial and development services to charter schools in low-income communities. The purpose of TCC is to leverage the collective expertise and resources of its members to increase the availability of financing and technical assistance to charter schools.

TCC is comprised of organizations that share a common mission to improve the viability of low-income and economically distressed communities. Coalition members include community development financial institutions (CDFIs), community development corporations (CDCs), nonprofit real estate developers, and other community development practitioners.

TCC's main goal is to facilitate the charter school industry’s access to capital and technical assistance critical to the development of successful, well managed schools housed in appropriate facilities. Activities may include establishing consistent communications/ networking opportunities; formulating industry best practices; increasing resources and access to real estate development proficiencies; and creating a collective voice to advocate actively for public policy changes that support charter schools' efforts to build and strengthen communities.
